I believe that
there are many things hearing-challenged people
can do to help each other. We each have
some little strategies of our own that we use to
make life more enjoyable, to make communication
more effective, and to find the help that we
need for the moment.
If all
hearing-challenged people (worldwide)
were acquainted with each other, I'll bet we
could share some very helpful information about
living with hearing loss.
Some still won't
admit that they even have a hearing impairment
for fear of the rejection they might experience.
That strategy doesn't work. It gets you
some labels that are much harder to live with
than hearing loss, or rejection.
A hearing loss
can be fun to live with, and very beneficial at
times. I think we should all get to know
each other and share our lives and our
experiences. Then we will be living life
to the fullest. |
